Frequently Asked Questions
I am taking lessons from another Pro, but I am interested in taking a Swing Performance Screen from you, is that a problem?
We can do the Swing Performance Screen, give you the reports and analysis, and let you decide the best course of action. The bottom line is you may like the personality of a given instructor, but in the end it’s the results you attain that count.
All the technology stuff is very confusing. Does it really make a difference?
Absolutely, every sport is driven by technology. They go through amazing things to shave a 1/10-second off a swimmer’s time. Nike has a whole division called SPARQ and everything is being driven by technology. Video and motion analysis with weight force plates are used in all sports. The idea is to diagnose better and retrain quicker and more effectively. You are the winner in the end.
What about the “good old days”, when I could just read a golf magazine or watch the “Golf Channel”?
The obvious issue with a magazine or Golf Channel tip is the instructor has never seen you swing and as such generic tips are hit and miss. At best this approach is a quick fix or band-aid that won’t last. Real Lasting improvement can only be achieved with the same approach we use and the Tour Player’s use.
Is all this fancy technology going to cost me a lot?
NO. Compare our rates with similar services at some other golf training centers and you will find there is no comparison in what they offer and what we offer.
Will I get better and lower my scores?
YES. However, you must follow the program and road map we prescribe.
Why indoor training?
Simple answer, people improve quicker when the ball flight doesn’t interfere with the learning process. Every top player in the world now trains at home in an indoor swing studio. In addition much of the technology (like 4 cameras) is not transferable to outdoors. That said we train indoors and verify outdoors.
Is 3D a replacement for 2D video?
No. 3D is more accurate in measuring how you move and transfer energy in your swing. The reports and analysis possible with 3D are much more detailed and we can use biofeedback as a training tool. Most people are visual learners and as such 2D will not be replaced by 3D, they complement each other. We do our 2D diagnostic with 4 cameras not 2 as everywhere else.
What is a good age to introduce a child to Golf?
We can start juniors as young as 6. Between the ages of 6 and 9 is a good time to start Junior Lessons.
Is physical conditioning good for Golf?
Yes and extremely important. Golf Specific Fitness programs not only help prevent injuries but can dramatically improve your ability to make a decent golf swing. Your mobility, stability and flexibility can all be addressed with a Golf Specific Fitness program.
Can you teach an “old dog” how to play Golf?
Yes, as long as you’re approaching your Golf Lesson program with enthusiasm and eagerness we can teach you to play Golf. We will make it a fun and enjoyable experience.
Do you offer programs for corporations or groups?
Absolutely, please check out our Programs/Services area for more information. We can customize a program to fit your needs as well.
Do you teach beginners?
We have a great beginner’s program; please see under our Programs/Services section.
I have some physical challenges; can I learn to play Golf?
Clearance from your physician is the first step. We can work with almost any physical challenge. There are 2 Blind Golfer Associations in the US and those players enjoy and love the game as much, if not more than anyone else.
I am just a beginner. 3D motion analysis sounds like it is more than I need.
Everyone needs 3D motion analysis. It can be used as not only a diagnostic tool but also as a training tool. In addition, we take a physical screen that tells us your physical imbalances and weaknesses before you develop bad habits.
